  • 1967 - Elected Municipal Vice-Mayor- Sibonga Cebu
  • 1967- 1979 - Appointed Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Province of Cebu
  • December to February 1980 - Short appointment made as Municipal Mayor by Pres. Marcos thru Eddie Gullas
  • February 1980 to 1985 - Elected Municipal Mayor
  • June 1985 - went down removed by opposition party during Edsa time
  • May 1986 to 1995 - Elected Mayor for 3 consecutive elections
  • May 1995 Election - No challenger

Hon. Mayor Bonifacio R. Bacaltos was the first Mayor in the history of Sibonga as the Undefeated Mayor. He has served his constituents until his death in 2004 for 20 productive and blissful years.
